EXPLORING THE CHALLENGES AND COPING MECHANISMS IN ONLINE TEACHING: BASIS FOR ENHANCING REMOTE
June 2024 EducationThe shift to online instruction has proven both essential and revolutionary in the rapidly changing field of education. In order to provide our students with relevant learning experiences, educators must continually adapt to new challenges and look for creative solutions. Examining the difficulties and coping strategies associated with online instruction becomes necessary in this environment. This study explores the challenges faced by teachers at Life Academy International in Pasig City, Philippines, when implementing remote learning environments due to unforeseen circumstances like strikes in public transit and health problems. The study reveals the complex character of online education through a narrative qualitative research approach, stressing the challenges encountered as well as the resiliency shown by teachers in overcoming these setbacks. The 15 senior high school teachers who took part in this study provided helpful insights on the social and technical aspects of online learning. Their firsthand accounts highlight the significance of good classroom management, the development of a feeling of community in online learning environments, and the vital role that institutional support plays in making sure that online teaching initiatives are successful. It is my hope that this research will be a source of inspiration and help for educators facing the challenges of online education as we set out on this exploratory adventure. We can continue to develop and innovate in our approaches to remote learning by pooling our collective experiences and insights, which will eventually promote improved learning outcomes for our students.
